3.1 Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers that help us operate our business, including cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, customer support platforms, and analytics services. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

3.2 Utility and Grid Services Partners

If you enroll in a virtual power plant (VPP) or demand response program through our Power App, we share relevant dispatch and energy data with the program operator as necessary to facilitate your participation. We will always obtain your explicit consent before enrolling you in any such program.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

3.4 Business Transfers

If Kora undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and the choices available to you.

3.5 Aggregated or De-identified Data

We may share aggregated, anonymized energy data with research partners, industry organizations, and the public to advance understanding of residential energy usage. This data cannot be used to identify individual households.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Energy and device data is retained for up to seven years to support warranty claims, system analysis, and grid services reporting. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
• Local processing of circuit-level energy data on the Smart Panel edge processor
• Role-based access controls limiting employee access to personal data
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Multi-factor authentication for all administrative access

6. Your Privacy Choices

6.1 Marketing Communications

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at support@korapower.org. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional communications related to your account or purchases.

6.2 Cookie Preferences

You can manage your cookie preferences through our cookie consent banner or your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6.3 Energy Data Sharing

You can control whether your energy data is shared for grid services purposes through the Power App settings. Turning off data sharing will disable VPP enrollment but will not affect the operation of your Kora system.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
• Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data

• Restriction: Request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances
